IMouse 1.2.2 — based on IMouse 1.2.1 ======================================== START 1. Extract the entire ZIP. Open app\IMouse.exe inside the extracted folder. Keep the app folder and its _internal folder together. Python is not needed. 2. Choose English or العربية from the Language menu at the top. 3. Open the camera. If needed, choose another camera number. 4. Click a small, clear feature in the preview: an eyebrow detail, part of the nose, or a lip corner. IMouse tracks this selected feature. THIS UPDATE This release starts from version 1.2.1, with its original tracking, feature selection and movement calibration. Its tracking/calibration core is identical to 1.2.1. The new eye-and-pointer logo uses the GUI's teal and mint colors; the executable, window icons, main header and compact header use this logo. SCROLLING FROM COMPACT CONTROLS The up/down arrows sit beside Clicks without increasing the panel size. 1. Open the page or app you want to scroll and move the pointer over its content. 2. Move to an arrow on the compact panel and hover for 0.7 seconds. 3. Keep hovering to repeat scrolling; move away to stop. Hover scrolling works during active camera control even when clicking is off. A physical click on an arrow scrolls once. Calibration and dragging disable the arrows; paused/lost tracking stops automatic hover scrolling. The arrows send wheel events to the remembered content window, leaving your cursor on the panel. Make the intended page active first if scrolling does not reach it. Some applications may handle simulated wheel messages differently. The panel remains 278 x 179 logical pixels in English, or 278 x 181 in Arabic, the same dimensions as version 1.2.1. Existing click modes and F9/F10 remain. FIRST MOVEMENT SETUP The calibration guide opens automatically after the first successful feature selection. Cursor movement and clicking stay paused during the guide. Follow six steps: rest, left, right, up, down, then relax into a comfortable resting position. Move the selected point in the direction shown in the camera preview, and hold it steady when asked. Small, comfortable movements are enough. Do not stretch or strain. The guide advances automatically and takes about 28 seconds when no steps need repeating. If a position is unstable, too close to rest, or in the wrong direction, that step repeats with instructions. If tracking is lost, select the feature again. Cancel setup or press F9 to stop the guide. STEP 6 FIX IN VERSION 1.2.1 Relax into a comfortable position and hold still until the step finishes. You no longer need to match your original position exactly. The following short countdown centers the cursor on your current resting position. Keep still during that countdown. Your measured movement ranges are preserved. Step 6 can still repeat if tracking samples are too sparse or unsteady. The measured ranges are saved and used to map your movement to the screen. On later starts, select the feature and hold your comfortable resting position during the short countdown. A saved profile avoids repeating the full guide. Use Recalibrate movement when you change your seating position, feature, or distance from the camera. Changing camera or Mirror requires new calibration. Recenter updates only your resting position. After calibration you can adjust horizontal and vertical sensitivity: higher values need less movement. DAILY CONTROLS - F9: pause or resume control from another app. - F10: turn dwell clicking on or off. - Hold the pointer over Clicks for 1.2 seconds to toggle clicking, even when clicking is off. Leave the button before toggling again. Tracking must be active for this hover gesture. - Move the physical mouse to pause camera control (enabled by default). - Hold still to click. Move outside the tolerance circle before another click. - Right and Double apply once, then return to Left. - Drag: dwell once to hold an item, move it, then dwell again to release it. - Compact controls opens a small translucent panel at the top-right. Show app pauses control and returns to the main window. LANGUAGE AND SETTINGS Arabic uses a right-to-left interface. Language changes do not reverse the camera image or cursor directions. Language and movement settings are saved at: %LOCALAPPDATA%\IMouse\settings.json On the first run, IMouse imports existing MotionMouse settings if available. The original settings file is preserved. A new calibration is still required. CAMERA AND PRIVACY Keep the selected feature visible and well lit. The tracker does not require whole-face detection, but it can lose the selected feature when it is covered or turns out of view. Select the feature again if this happens. Only the primary monitor is controlled in this version. Video is processed locally; camera images are not saved or transmitted. No network is needed to run the app. Live webcam accuracy must be checked with your own setup; see VERIFICATION.txt for the automated checks completed for this release. SOURCE The source folder contains the editable Python app, translations and build specification. On 64-bit Windows with Python 3.13: cd source python -m pip install -r requirements.txt python imouse.py To build a standalone copy: python -m pip install pyinstaller==6.22.2 python -m PyInstaller --noconfirm IMouse.spec The result is dist\app\IMouse.exe. Distribute the entire app folder, including _internal, and the accompanying third-party notices and licenses. IMouse is an independent app inspired by Camera Mouse, with no affiliation.
